Continuing on from the doggie portrait of UK. Here's USA/Alfred with an American Cocker spaniel.
I used no refs for the dog (or just bits and pieces for the paws) so her pose is a bit weird. I just think Americans tend to be more relaxed with their dogs and like to cuddle them. I may be wrong though, since I was thinking of Paris Hilton and those little dogs she likes to keep in her purse... I tried to make Alfred more beefy than Arthur (since that's what I observed in America) and of course he's in all-American casual clothing.
I lost the pencil I used to draw UK, so I was a bit depressed and the starting off for this picture was a bit tough.
I have ideas for France (poodle), China (chow chow/Pekingese) and Germany (wolfhound) too... I don't know any Italian dogs.
Aww! So cute! I think this is a very accurate portrayal. I'm not very informed on the relationships between people and dogs in other countries, but I do know that Americans generally think of their animals as members of their families as they would a sibling or child, so the cuddling pose is appropriate.

That's what I thought too. I always think Americans are a bit warmer than the Brits, who are eccentric all right, but I think the tiny pooch fad hasn't really taken off in the UK.
The dog looks great to me. They squirm a lot, so if it looks off, it's because they don't know how to stay still D< Most people I know absolutely ADORE their pets, dogs or not, and that's something I find kind of unique about our country...a general love of a pet, not just having it for the sake of an image or money...but I'm not too sure how other countries handle pets; it depends on the person more, I think. It's so blue~<3
Okay, so say Alfred's standing like a doofus D: He's American, people'll believe it~
We don't let our dog on the furniture; he's too big. My cousin's got a big lab, though, and she's allowed on the sofa, beds, etc ><' And she's really hard to move, so I end up sitting on/around her.
I like the blue. My scanner makes things...smudgey. :/
OH GOOOODDDD SOOO CUTE. I was just watching lady and the tramp today in english (for whatever reason) so this is pretty cool. The dog looks great, I totally thought it was reffed upon looking at it. So. Adorable. You're tearin' up my heart also, FANDOM NEEDS MORE CASUAL CLOTHES. I love his star shirt ;o;

I think Americans tend to pamper their pets a lot and let them run around the house and be on the furniture.
My scanner tends to make my pencil drawings slightly blueish. :3

I have no real idea on the pet habits of any nation. I just chose something that reflected the easygoing nature of Americans.
I usually give the scanner bed a wipe before I scan. And I'm really careful with pencil drawings so as not to smudge them.
Dogs are like, THE animal for an American. You should've drawn an American Water Spaniel, though D': They're so much more patriotic~ <3
Our scanner just hates me. I think its bulb is dying, though.
