Anyway, I don't like that whole thing that all artists must only produce original work that is highbrow and oh so abstract. It gets pretentious after awhile XD Especially the plethora of OCs running around with multicoloured hair and stuff. I'm just happy drawing things I like and I'm not good enough to go designing original stuff just yet.

i think youre good enough to do your own original stuff. i certainly think you are! Just sometimes artists get into the comfort zone of doing fanart because it guarantees them more popularity than original work would.

anyway, still love your works all the same

I DON'T do fanart for popularity. I don't get much anyway. If I wanted popularity I would have drawn half-naked obese girls (DA has an unhealthy obsession with these), furries or BL.

I just think that the pressure to do original work is just as ridiculous as the pressure to do fanart (especially all those OCs with multicoloured hair and the stupidest names on the planet and equally dumb backstories; I think this is the reason why nobody likes originals except in exceptional circumstances). So I've screwed them both and just do what I feel like doing.

I'm not a kh2 fan myself, and ihaven't played the game so i can't judge really but! I have to say! <3 I love how you've portrayed this character in your style!

I tend to get a bit blah of seeing kh2 stuff, but only because it tends to be stuff which gets faved simply because it's kh2 or, because it looks identicle to the official stuff or something you know? I really love fanart, I dont' care if i'm in a comfort zone or anything like that, I love seeing fanart in peoples original styles, and i really love the face on this because, I like that you can tell what character it is, and where it belongs and things, but that it's also in your own original style and portrayal, and i think that takes a lot of skill

I also think that if youd o what you feel like doing, as stated in one of your comments above, you can put so much more effort into it, anyway!

Yea the KH2 section is littered with AkuRoku XD But poor Marly isn't from 2, he's from CoM so I guess he's a refreshing burst in there XD

Yeps, you've found my favourite thing to do: redraw characters we know and love in my style, or how I envision them. Original stuff is good, but I'm just happy drawing characters I like and have an emotional connection to.
